An Ceili Mor

Nuala O' Halloran and friends organised a ceili for ILFA at the end of August. It was a great success and everybody who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done to the energetic folk of Cork !

Nuala has written a report of her fundraising event.

“With the generous assistance and encouragement of the Caheragh Hall Committee, the Caheragh faithful and my own Skibbereen Set Dancing companions, we held a Ceili Mor on behalf of ILFA on 31st. August.

The hall was filled to capacity and the music was wonderful. We danced several sets, among them The Sliabh Luachra, The Plain, the Connemara, the Cashel, the Moycullen and the Ballyvourney Jig Set. We had a delicious tea break in the middle (believe me we needed it!), and a raffle. A collection from our dancing friends, a most generous contribution from the Hall Committee, and having defrayed essential expenses, elicited €800.We wish good luck to ILFA in all its endeavours.”
